The Exciting Opportunity

We are looking for a Seasonal Pro-Shop Assistant to strengthen our team during the summer as we re-open our newly renovated Golf Clubhouse at SCHLOSS Roxburghe. If you enjoy working in a golf and retail environment and can welcome our golf members and visitors with a smile then we’d love to hear from you!
The Seasonal Pro-Shop Assistant will support with the daily running of the Pro Shop including selling merchandise in the shop, booking golf tee times and other golf activities and services. The Pro-Shop Assistant will also provide a warm welcome to our golfers as they arrive and assist the Clubhouse F&B team during busy spells, always ensuring to create an exceptional and memorable experience for our golf members and visitors.
This is a seasonal position from May through to September and based on an average 14-20 hours a week. Availability to work weekends is essential

You are enthusiastic and have a positive personality with the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships
You are able to multi-task and thrive working in a busy, fast-paced environment
You have great communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with people
You use your initiative and take a practical approach to problem solving
You have a flexible approach to working days, evenings and weekends

Proven Experience/Qualifications.

Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
Golf knowledge and experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Your Key Responsibilities

You will assist with the smooth running of the Pro Shop including selling merchandising, processing sales and suggesting products to meet customer requirements
You will support with day-to-day golf administration: responding to emails and golf enquiries, answer telephone calls and use the BRS golf booking system
You will collect fees and process payments, including green fees, hire, retail and membership
You will ensure that the Pro Shop is clean, well-stocked and professionally presented at all times
To ensure that all golf equipment hire including golf clubs and golf buggies are clean, charged, and ready to be used
To complete cashing up procedures and reports as required
You will contribute to ideas and initiatives to drive revenue and customer service in the Clubhouse
You will engage with our golf members and visitors in a professional, helpful and friendly manner, doing everything to ensure an exceptional customer experience
You will demonstrate good product knowledge and share your enthusiasm for our products
Support the Assistant PGA Professional in the running and organisation of golf competitions and events on the golf course
Flexibility to assist in the Clubhouse F&B Operation when required
