The Exciting Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced candidate to join us.
This new & exciting role will form part of the team at the newly renovated SCHLOSS Roxburghe – which has succesfully re-opened 1st June 2019. In this role, you will work closely with the Sales, Marketing & Events Manager and Senior Management.

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Sales Manager who has the ability to display great pro activity and excellent sales skills, deliver excellent customer service and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. We require a Sales Manager who has previous experience within a similar role. You will be responsible for achieving the best possible economic result of the company within the framework of its specifications and in close cooperation with the Revenue Management. The role shall also include participating in events, exhibitions and roadshows within the travel industry and hospitality industry.

Where Will You Be Working?

This role will be one of the new appointments for SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course. Set in the beautiful nature of the Scottish Borders this historic property with its championship golf course and the full range of sporting pursuits on the Roxburghe Estates, offers a getaway destination little more than an hour’s drive from both Edinburgh and Newcastle. Formerly owned by the Duke of Roxburghe, the hotel, golf club and part of the grounds has been acquired by the 12.18. Group. Our aim is to enhance this charming country house with an extensive refurbishment, building a separate extension to feature 57 additional rooms as well as a luxurious spa and a state-of-the-art meeting space. In addition, 60 lodges will be built on the surrounding estate that will allow the new SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course to extend its room inventory further to holiday-makers.

What Are We Looking For?

  • A positive personality, approachable, attentive, outgoing, extrovert and instinctive
  • A proven track record in a similar role within the hotel industry
  • Experience within the different market segments such as MICE, Leisure, Corporate
  • A great expertise in the UK & Scottish market
  • Existing client / market contacts
  • Experienced in organising your own day to day business e.g. site visits and sales trips
  • Experience in budgeting
  • Driving license
  • Open to travel
  • Smart, well groomed personal appearance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A desire to be “the best” with high standards
  • Good proven organisation and planning skills gained through previous experience
  • The work place can be based in Edinburgh (home office)
