The History & Tradition of Afternoon Tea.

Afternoon tea, the most quintessential of British traditions, is thought to have been introduced by the 7th Duchess of Bedford in the mid-1800s. The Duchess wanted to combat the “sinking feeling” she felt in late afternoon. It has since become a popular and respected custom of British social life.
Today, we invite you to join us at SCHLOSS Roxburghe to experience the best of the afternoon tea tradition. Indulge yourself in our very own revival and interpretation of Afternoon Tea.
