SCHLOSS Roxburghe: Rural & Romantic

A big part of your time staying in castles in Scotland has to be centred around fantastic food. Luckily, SCHLOSS Roxburghe is home to some fabulous dining options. Chief among them is Sunlaws, our fine dining restaurant. Carefully crafted haute cuisine, the food at Sunlaws offers the perfect balance between hearty Scottish fare and innovative flavour combinations.

Many of the fresh and tasty ingredients on the menu are actually grown on the SCHLOSS Roxburghe estate. Our food philosophy is that it tastes better when you know where it comes from. Locally sourced meat and other foods & beverages are also used to complement our own produce. Round off your indulgent days at the SCHLOSS with a Scottish whisky tasting or some other nightcap in our bar. Go to bed feeling happy, safe in the knowledge a princely full Scottish breakfast awaits you in the morning…

Castle Accommodation & Activities in
The Scottish Borders

Living well is an important part of the Scottish castle experience – for many, relaxing in plush surroundings and eating sumptuous meals is enough to feel transported to another world. That said, SCHLOSS Roxburghe encourages guests to get out and enjoy the castle grounds too. This can take many forms. The hotel is perhaps best known for its Championship-level golf course, but we also host a whole range of country sports too. These castle experience style activities include:

• Shooting & Hunting; go out to the Gun Room to grab your kit – SCHLOSS Roxburghe is famous for its Clay Pigeon Shooting School and Driven Game Shooting
• Fly-fishing; for an altogether more peaceful experience, wade in the waters of the River Tweed or Teviot and get fishing
• Family-friendly activities; experience falconry, or learn the art of archery or tomahawk throwing – fun for all ages!
