A sanctuary of creativity, learning and play.

Kio House of Kids is SCHLOSS Roxburghe's latest addition - an exciting and engaging Kids Club nestled in the heart of the estate.

It features three indoor spaces, each with its own unique focus, an outdoor play area, and an adjacent forest for nature exploration and discovery.

Rooted in the philosophy of environmental awareness and sustainable consciousness, the message of Kio is that every action, no matter how big or small, has an impact on the entire planet.

It is inspired by the original story "Kio the Little Big Seahorse," with our Kids Club introducing the next chapter in the series, "Kio, Everything in Flow." This new tale highlights water cycles, the journey of salmons, and the interconnectedness of actions across ecosystems.

These themes run throughout the Kids Club and its activities, providing families and children the ideal place to create, learn and play.

Creativity

The Green Room embodies the vibrant human world of creativity and action, serving as the hub for arts and crafts, play, cooking, creating, and experiencing. Its green walls feature a symbolic river, adorned with iconic drawings of the natural world, inviting children to explore and discover as they venture beyond Kio's House of Kids.

Rest

The Blue Room is designed as a serene underwater space, where children can relax, sleep, and let their imaginations drift away under soft lighting. It's a haven of comfort, filled with cushions, mattresses, soft toys, and soothing blue hues.

Play

The Pink Room is designed to foster intellectual growth and stimulation, serving as a haven for games and books. It's a space where a media concept intertwines digital and traditional learning, encouraging fun and education through interactive play.

Our activities take place both indoors and outdoors, with the theme of sustainability and environmental consciousness running throughout.

FAQs

Is access to the kids club free?

Yes. All children between the ages of 4-12 who are guests at SCHLOSS Roxburghe are welcome to use the kids club free of charge.

When is the kids club open?

The kids club is open Wednesday to Sunday, between 09:30 - 17:00. It is closed for one hour each day between 12:00 - 13:00.

Opening days and times are subject to change. Please consult our team if you have any questions.

Who can access the kids club?

Access to the kids club is available to all guests between the ages of 4 - 12. Guests under the age of 4 may access the kids club, provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

What activities are available?

Please consult our activity schedule for a full list of activities offered. Activities are limited to 8 children per session.

All activity slots must be booked ahead of time. Walk-ins may be accommodated at the manager's discretion, however a parent or guardian must then accompany their child at all times.

Activities are subject to change.

Is Food Available in the kids club?

No food is available in the kids club. Children requiring food for medical reasons will be accommodated if food is supplied by the parent or guardian.

Will somebody administer required medication to my child?

Our staff will not administer medication to children. If your child requires a regular intake of medication, we ask that a parent or guardian is available to do this.

What if my child is sick?

To protect other children, we ask that any child who is ill or has been ill within the last 24 hours not attend the kids club.
